Laboratory of Dissent 2019
‘Inside/ Outside’ 1st November – 11th December @ Winchester Gallery
Responding to the theme ‘Inside/Outside’, CAS Artists will deliver a 5 week multimedia exhibition across three university sites from 1st November 2019. With an interrogative, experimental ‘Laboratory’ approach, artists will collaborate live on-site within the course of the show, exploring the theme within a dynamic, relational and discursive framework.
The Laboratory of Dissent 2019 will launch with a day long public symposium, bringing artists, students and teaching staff together to discuss and interrogate the theme of Inside/Outside.
CAS artists will enter the dialogue started at the symposium with physical artwork, interactive making, text-work and performance. The Laboratory of Dissent will continue to grow and morph across 5 weeks in response to their live interactions /experiments.
An evolving body of digital, visual and performative work will enliven and connect spaces, drawing visitors, university staff and students into an engaging and unfolding dialogue around Inside/Outside, to find new and alternative ways to open up the connecting space between the two.
