Workshops

Chapel Arts Studios are developing an exciting and challenging outreach programme.
A recent prototype, Test Chamber was run in Winton School, Andover, by Lead Artist David Dixon. This was an ambitious week long residency that challenged and stretched the abilities of a group of year 7 children. Each days session developed those preceding it. The cumulative result was one that allowed the pupils to realise a much greater depth of creativity, sharpened their perceptive skills, and encouraged them to take artistic risks.

The residency at Winton school will be used as a template for an advanced Test Chamber training programmed based at the studios. This will be an intense 3-5 day residential experience designed to promote and encourage creative approaches and thinking in professional working adults.

The two lead artists in this programme, David Dixon and Dr. Yonat Nitzan-Green have, between them, several years of research and teaching experience, ranging from primary school to doctoral level environments.

Participants on the course will work in a studio capacity with the artists, discussing, developing and realising a body of work. The programme is designed to be process oriented, focussing more on the understanding that can be gained through in-depth exploration of the creative process, rather than concentrating on a finished outcome.

More information will be published when the project is finalised for launch.
