SOCIAL PRESCRIBING

Social Prescribing and Art

CAS works with charities such as Mind and the NHS, as well as local authority colleagues to provide a range of courses for health and wellbeing.

In 2021, we ran art journaling courses with teenage girls and adults with mental health challenges.

In 2022 CAS developed its social prescribing courses and offered a free, 4-week series of art workshops called ‘Second Nature’. It was made possible by generous funding from Simplyhealth and was aimed at local, over 60s who were impacted by Covid restrictions, isolation and ill health.

NATURE NATURALLY

Following on from the success of our spring 2022 art workshops for wellbeing 'Second Nature', CAS developed its social prescribing courses by offering a 6-week series of art workshops called ‘Nature Naturally’. Generous funding from Hampshire County Council made these initial courses free to attend and was aimed at local people who felt isolated and who were facing mental and physical challenges.

Nature Naturally culminated in a community exhibition at Unity Art Studios, Andover.

CAS now has a centre located on Andover High Street where we offer social prescribing courses.
