Marian Obando is an artist working between mixed media animation, music and dance

improvisation. Through these and other mediums, she explores themes around

memories, dreams and the body.

After completing her MA in Character Animation at Central St Martins, Marian began pursuing an experimental approach to animating fine art materials. She has created animated films using watercolour, charcoal, oil pastels, acrylic paint, scratch on film, origami paper, pixilation, video, found objects, found footage, and other mixed media. 'The Angel in the House' will be her first solo exhibition.

Join Marian Obando at The Chapel for a FREE talk about her exhibition The Angel in the House.

You are invited to join Marian Obando and curator Fiona Cassidy for an artist talk exploring the ideas, processes and inspirations behind Marian's first solo exhibition - The Angel in the House.

The conversation will offer an opportunity to hear directly from Marian about her experimental approach to animation and her exploration of memory, dreams and the body, while gaining further insight into the development and presentation of the works in the exhibition. Fiona will join Marian in conversation, bringing a curatorial perspective to the exhibition and its themes of memory as both intimate and collective - something physically experienced through images, movement and sound.
