CAS ASSOCIATE ARTIST TAKEOVER: Richard Barnfather

"A Different Path" at The Chapel Gallery

Tuesday 23 - Sunday 28 September

Open to the Public: 10am - 4pm

with celebration and conversation about the works on Saturday 27 September

Richard will be available to chat about the work on display and his career as an artist.

All welcome!

A note from Richard:

My artist’s takeover at Chapel Arts Studios will involve a compendium my of artworks, partially archival, but primarily recent works, either in progress or completed. The title for this exhibition could equally be ‘Curiosities’, ‘Threads’  or even ‘Doodles’, as there are a variety of approaches, starting points and meanderings on a themes. The intention will also be to incorporate work that relates to my teaching practice. There will be an emphasis on painting and drawing with added mix media pieces thrown (gently) in.

I’m utilising this takeover is a chance to put examples of my work from relatively recent periods of my life into one place for the first time.

It will represent a moment of potential reflection, an opportunity to view the various themes and experiences that have peaked my curiosity over time, how I have responded to them and how each experience has opened up new pathways for creative enquiry, especially those which have evolved through collaborations with fellow creatives!

You are invited to an informal ‘opening’ (the penultimate day of the show!) on Saturday 27th September.

All are welcome to attend, and it would be great to see you there if you can make it. I will talk a little about my practice, some of the approaches and narratives within the work and of course be open to further discussion!
